Plum under indoor lighting
Pastels lose definition in low light — the colour flattens and the embroidery stops reading. Plum does the opposite: it holds its depth, and the gold work gains contrast the darker the room gets. If your event is a winter evening reception in a hotel ballroom, this is built for that room.
It is also practical. Dark fabric hides the inevitable, which matters at a function where food is served standing up.
The embroidery
Sequin and tilla work covers the full shirt in a close repeat, then builds into a dense gold and antique border at the hemline and sleeve edges. The culottes carry a matching band and the dupatta is bordered to match. The weight is concentrated low, which is what gives the shirt its fall.
Sizes and stitching
S, M and L in standard sizing, or Custom Size cut to your measurements. Sleeve lining is optional. Check the size chart before choosing, and note that all-over embroidered chiffon has almost no give, so measure honestly rather than optimistically.
How heavy is it to wear?
Medium. The all-over work adds weight to the shirt but it is sequin and thread rather than metal, so it is considerably lighter than a kundan zari or tissue piece. Comfortable for a full evening.
Can the culottes be changed to a straight trouser?
Yes, if you are ordering Custom Size. Tell us at the point of order and we will confirm before stitching begins.
