Measuring for a churidaar

This needs more care than a standard trouser. A churidaar is cut long and gathers into folds at the ankle, so we need your calf and ankle measurements as well as your inside leg — not just your waist and hip. If you are ordering Custom Size, take those measurements sitting down as well as standing; that is where fitted legwear usually goes wrong. The size chart shows what we need.

What is a pishwas?

A traditional Mughal-era frock silhouette: fitted bodice, flaring from below the bust to a full floor-length hem, worn over a churidaar. It predates the shirt-and-trouser format and reads as the more formal of the two.

Can I wear a pishwas if I am short?

Yes, but order Custom Size. The hem must clear the floor precisely on a pishwas — the sweep is the silhouette, and a dragging or floating hem ruins it.
